Laurence King at OFFSET London

Laurence King

One of my old lecturers once asked me do I like books… generally? I thought he was cracked, I mean who doesn’t like books especially as a vis comm student I generally judged every book by its cover. So with that in mind we have invited publishers Laurence King to OFFSET London to judge all their beautifully designed books by their covers.

Laurence King Publishing was established in London in 1991, and is now recognised as one of the world’s leading publishers of books on the creative arts. Their books are acclaimed for their inventiveness, beautiful design and authoritative texts, as well as the care taken over their production.

Laurence King Publishing have been expanding their vast Design, Graphic Design and Illustration lists this Autumn. Looking for design inspiration? Graphic Design Visionaries by Grafik editor Caroline Roberts features 75 of the world’s most influential designers, displaying their defining work that dramatically influenced the graphic design industry. It gets the OFFSET seal of approval.

Fanatical about fonts? Type: New Perspectives in Typography by Henrik Kubel and Scott Williams is the book for you. Type is an A-Z survey of typographic design, including the work of former speakers Michael Bierut, Experimental Jetset, Stefan Sagmeister, Richard Turley, Hort along with Scott King, Cornel Windlin, karlssonwilker inc., Fuel, Gavillet & Rust and De Designpolitie among others.

After the spectacular success of adult colouring book Secret Garden by illustrator Johanna Basford, Laurence King has begun to turn its attention to children’s activity books, with the uncompromising belief that children deserve leading design, production and content too. On 30 September 2015, Laurence King officially launched their children’s book list.
