    Offset Dublin 2016: A Film With over 2,500 attendees each year, Offset has fast become one of the world’s most inspirational, educational and vocational conferences for the design and creative industries. Since 2009, from our Dublin base, we have attracted such creative icons as Massimo Vignelli, Sir Peter Blake, Paula Scher, David Carson, Milton Glaser, Kyle Cooper, Stefan Sagmeister, Micheal Bierut, Shepard Fairey, Tomi Ungerer, JR, Lance Wyman, George Lois and Louise Fili to grace our wonderful stages.

    Representing industry at all levels, our speakers are key disruptors and influencers in their field driving everything from huge global campaigns to awe inspiring personal projects.

    In 2016 OFFSET was delighted to announce a new collaboration with innovation giants Accenture, with a dedicated stage over the three days packed full of talks, panels and discussions. Entitled Innovation by Design, the programme for this stage was jam packed with everything from AI and Customer Insights to Music in a Digital Age and Living Organisations.

    NIALL MCINERNEY | OFFSET 2016 Niall McInerney has been one of the foremost catwalk photographers since the 1980s. The final day of Dublin 2016 opened with a bang and a snap as the renowned fashion photographer offered up some treats for our eyes.

    PIRANHA BAR | OFFSET 2016 As well as creating the mesmerising titles for this year’s OFFSET, Piranha Bar also provided us with an “A+” main stage talk. Founder, director and studio creative Gavin Kelly blew us away with a glimpse into the studio’s mindset and methodology for projects ranging from Tommy McAnairey to An Post and their new film Doom Newt.

    RUSSELL MILLS | OFFSET 2016 Russell Mills drew the audience in with his captivating and thought provoking portfolio. His acclaimed work for the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel portrayed how he pulls inspiration from the world around him and its political themes.

    TADO | OFFSET 2016 On the Saturday morning of OFFSET Dublin 2016 the main stage was filled by the tremendously talented illustration and character design duo, Mike and Katie of TADO. The Sheffield based pair described their characters as “super-cuteness and real beauty coupled with horribleness and darkness”.

    ROBERT BALLAGH | OFFSET 2016 Every Irish person of a certain generation has held his designs in their hands, while audiences in their millions sat agape as Irish Dancing took over the world with his designs as the backdrop. Robert Ballagh’s graphic design and fine art has shaped a 20th century interpretation of Ireland. Watch as he takes you through a 40 year career in 40 minutes!

    ANGUS HYLAND | OFFSET 2016 The sun greeted our highly caffeinated heads for the start of Day Two as we welcomed Pentagram’s Angus Hyland to the main stage. The main focus of his work revolved around one area; ‘Le Style Anglais’. Angus detailed work from his Penguin book covers to his much-loved The Book of the Dog and a lot more in between.

    REED + RADER | OFFSET 2016 Reed + Rader are a digital art, photographic and graphic design duo that have been taking the world of GIF-art by storm for the last ten years. Pamela Reed and Matthew Rader were at the forefront of the digital arts movement long before Tumblr culture exploded.

    4CREATIVE | OFFSET 2016 John Allison and Chris Bovill of 4Creative talk agency life, collaboration, taking risks and staying true to each other after twenty years.

    ROTHCO | OFFSET 2016 Rothco is a multi-awarding independent creative agency that has been getting its hands dirty in the advertising industry here in Dublin for the last twenty years. With some impressive clients under their belt, Heineken, Unilever and AIB to name a few, we have three of their hard-hitting team gracing our main stage this year. Producer Jessica Derby and copywriters Shane O’Brien and John McMahon talk all things advertising.

    STEPHEN KELLEHER | OFFSET 2016 Born and raised in Dublin, graphic artist, Stephen Kelleher, upped sticks to journey across the pond shortly after graduating from the National College of Art & Design. For the last decade he has been living and working in the States and is currently residing in Brooklyn.

    He kicked off Offset 2016 in style with a talk that was full of passion, craft, imagination and honesty.

    ANDY RISTAINO | OFFSET 2016 Growing up in Massachusetts, Andy Ristaino spent his days with pen to paper drawing his way through childhood and his teenage years until he eventually left for Rhode Island School of Design. Majoring in illustration but taking animation courses on the side led him into the world we know him from, Pendelton Ward’s, Adventure Time.

    STEPHEN AVERILL & SHAUGHN MCGRATH | OFFSET 2016 As Ireland’s most garlanded pop-culture designers, Stephen Averill and Shaughn McGrath guided us through the process for each and every U2 album cover from Boy to Songs of Innocence and everything in between, in their main stage talk.

    MCBESS | OFFSET 2016 London-based French illustrator, musician and co-owner of The Dudes, Mcbess took to the main stage where he spoke of evolving his work onto different platforms, the transition from an animator at The Mill to a process that now includes video, illustration and design with each dot painstakingly made in order to produce his visual masterpieces.
