OFFSET DAY THREE PREVIEW

On Sunday 10th of April, the OFFSET doors will be opening at 10 am. After registration, you have the chance to socialise and get some breakfast at Lolly & Cooks before the first talks start at 11 am.

From the most fabulous catwalks to the main stage of OFFSET, our first speaker, fashion photographer, Niall McInerney will join us to talk to our crowd about the fashion industry prior to the digital era. We cannot wait to hear the exclusive revelations about behind the scenes of the most famous fashion shows in the world.

Moving back to the digitalised playground, for our second act, we are delighted that creative agency Studio Dumbar will get our audience’s attention with their powerful visual branding. Offline and online Studio Dumbar’s portfolio shows that there’s little that these creative minds can’t do when it comes to branding.

Next up will be Andy Ristaino who is going to take our audience on an adventure with Finn, Jake and Princess Bubblegum. If you haven’t guessed it yet, Andy is an illustrator for Pendelton Ward’s Adventure Time, along with his own comic books and more. We can’t wait to hear about his brain’s inner working and we’ll definitely be popping to the Exhibition Time show in The Bernard Shaw.

On the break, why not grab a copy of a new book from No Brow who are an award winning visual publishing company headquartered in London – established by our good friends Sam Arthur and Alex Spiro. They have rejuvenated the children’s book market with a stunning collection of illustrated books which we can’t wait to get our hands on a couple by some very familiar OFFSET faces too.

Returning to our OFFSET stage and to her homeland, London-based, Irish designer Úna Burke will take us through the journey of how a Limerick fashion graduate came to dress Lady Gaga for her world tour and the future of her stunning leather accessories line.

Not a stranger to the OFFSET crowd, French illustrator mcbess has entertained our London audience talking about his sources of inspiration and how he is rocking the international illustration scene. We can’t wait to see him again on our Dublin stage.

Flying our Irish flag, Stephen Averill and Shaughn McGrath, of Amp Visual, will take to the stage to give us an insight into one of the most successful collaborations between music and design. Stephen and Shaughn have designed every U2 album cover and they drew the guidelines for pop-culture designers.

The master craftsman, calligrapher Seb Lester is going to close our last day at OFFSET 2016 on a sweet note. Seb will charm and captivate our audience talking about his career as an artist and designer, whose skills go far beyond type design.

At 7pm on day three, OFFSET 2016 will close its doors but we hope you will join us later to celebrate the end of another fantastic edition of OFFSET at our favourite local, The Ferryman, where we can share stories of the weekend.

We asked our previous brilliant speaker Aisling Farinella what her most memorable moment of speaking at OFFSET was. She told us that she remembers being five months pregnant and couldn’t help thinking what her baby was making of it all. We hope that Aisling and little Franca might make it down over the weekend.

Her talk from OFFSET 2014 is below and you can get your tickets for this year here along with the main stage schedule for the three days here.
