OFFSET DAY TWO PREVIEW

On Saturday 9th of April another exciting day of OFFSET will open its doors at 9.30am with talks kicking off at 11am.

OFFSET Day Two ndorgan

OFFSET Day Two begins with our first speaker, Angus Hyland, a partner at Pentagram, author and creative director; he is one of UK’s top graphic designers. Angus has led campaigns for international brands, published the much adored The Book of the Dog and he has also collaborated with musician Nick Drake on his Sick Bag Song book. Previous Pentagram speakers have bowled us over so we are expecting big things from Angus.

OFFSET Day Two

We can’t wait to welcome the incredible TADO, who are set to bring a colour explosion to our OFFSET stage with their Japanese inspired illustrations and toys. If dreamland existed we are sure that it would be quite similar to TADO’s world, where even skeletons look happy.

OFFSET Day Two

Afterwards, legendary multimedia artist Russell Mills will join the OFFSET stage, showcasing his groundbreaking design, which includes his album covers for the likes of Brian Eno, Nine Inch Nails and Peter Gabriel. At 2pm we will go on a lunch break in order to process all the brilliant acts of the morning and come back after one hour; full, caffeinated and bursting with energy for the final four of amazing Saturday schedule.

Following the break, the brilliant Paloma Strelitz, co-founder of Assemble, will inspire us by talking about design activism. Assemble is the only architecture collective that has ever been awarded of the Turner Prize award and we have so much respect for this ground breaking collective.

OFFSET Day Two

As scary as it sounds, Piranha Bar, a creative content studio, are actually our friends, not a trendy new fish shop in Ringsend. They brought to life the adorable character Tommy McAnairey, for Bord Gáis Networks, along with a host of other characters. They will be sharing their incredible animation work with our OFFSET crowd. Keep your eyes on these guys because they have skills to pay bills.

OFFSET Day Two

As we near the end of day two, we are honoured that internationally acclaimed graphic designer Jonathan Barnbrook could join our Saturday line up. Jonathan collaborated with David Bowie on his album covers for over 15 years.

Finally, visionary intergalactic designer GMUNK will rock our stage as our last act of the day. We are excited to see how GMUNK is going to enchant and intrigue the OFFSET crowd with his digital art and transcendental visuals.

Phew, what a line up…and that is just the main stage, watch out for 2nd stage and many more announcements soon!
The full main stage schedule can be found here.

After we close the doors at 7pm the party goes on at The Ferryman Pub.

Looking back at our previous speakers, we talked to US designer Paula Scher, about a memory she has of her experience at OFFSET. Paula revealed to us that she had the best fish and chips ever at Leo Burdocks. We will definitely be hitting up the local fish shop for something special.
